As mentioned in another question, it takes us about 2 to 3 years, including hosting fees, to reach the equivalent of a site sold at the flat rate ($3,500). Waiting 2 years to receive the equivalent of the full amount is not sustainable, especially if we then have to replace that subscription with a new client. It would be simpler (and more profitable) to be paid in full upfront. We also depend on this recurring monthly revenue to maintain financial stability, which allows us to spend more time on client work rather than having to sell non-stop just to cover our costs.
